2026 Teen Life Conference
Join us for Colorado's first-ever healthcare-focused conference designed specifically for high-school aged youth. The Teen Life Conference (TLC) is a joint initiative of the Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition and Colorado’s Regional Accountable Entities (RAEs), including Rocky Mountain Health Plans, Northeast Health Partners, Colorado Access, and the Colorado Community Health Alliance.
The TLC will bring 70 high school students from across the state for a one-day in-person conference set in Denver, Colorado in the spring or summer of 2026. At the conference, adult clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals and teens will present and lead presentations and workshops for their peers and leaders in Colorado healthcare to view. Additionally, there will be a resource fair, a keynote speaker, and a speed-networking activity for teens to meet young healthcare professionals in various fields.
About the Conference
Through hosting the Teen Life Conference, we seek to work toward the following:
1. We recognize that in discussions regarding healthcare, youth voices are often left out of the conversation. We want to allow those in charge of the Colorado Public Health infrastructure to directly hear what young people want and need, and how they use healthcare.
2. We want the next generation of healthcare professionals and leaders to feel empowered to pursue the career of their dreams. We want to introduce teens to clinical and non-clinical careers in the healthcare field with direct contact to young adult professionals in these spaces.
3. Many teens are not taught critical information about how to navigate and use the healthcare system for their personal use. We aim to provide high-quality information to teens that they can use and take back to their communities and peers.
4. Representation matters, and the future of healthcare depends on the inclusion of diverse perspectives and lived experiences. We want to contribute to diversifying the healthcare workforce pipeline by intentionally expanding access to healthcare education, career paths, and leadership development for young people with marginalized and intersecting identities.
